This policy is about the way Leslez (leslez.org) treats data or rather the amount of data that we treat. We also operate free font browsing and downloading. We do not need accounts, we do not harvest personal information of those utilizing the site and we do not sell data to any one. That’s the short version. Details are filled in on the remainder of this page.

We Don’t Know Who You Are

Leslez does not have any user registration. No accounts. No login system. None of the fonts have email capture forms. As you window shop fonts, preview typefaces or download a ZIP file, we do not know anything about you as an individual. We do not keep the IP addresses in any database under our control. We do not construct visitor profiles. We do not print off browsers. You appear, you take what you want, you go. Well, that, I think, is all we have to say.

What Actually Runs on This Site

We have a minimal amount of third-party services in order to maintain the site and to learn the basic patterns of the traffic. We have the entire list here– all is not concealed in a mist of words:

Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics. These are the ones we use to see aggregate traffic data i.e., the number of people that visited the site this week, the most viewed pages, the countries people visit the site, and the device people use to visit the site. Google analytics relies on cookies to monitor sessions. It does not provide us with your name, email address, phone number, or anything which can directly identify you as a person. Google uses such data in its own privacy statement. To completely get out of Google analytics, you can also install Google opt-out browser extension. We do not associate analytics data with a particular person.

We Use Google Workspace/Email Service

When you get in touch with us either via the contact page or by email, the message ends up in a Google workspace inbox. That is the only personal information we ever get, your email address and whatever you put in that message, and it is your mail that you decided to send. We do not include contact email in any mailing list, marketing database or CRM. We read it, we respond in case there is need, and that is all.

The two are all that processes any kind of visitor-related information on this site. No third-party analytics on ad networks, retargeting pixels, social media tracking widgets, heatmap tools, or any other third-party analytics than the ones listed above.

Fonts & Licensing – We Do not Host Stolen Work

All the fonts present in Leslez are obtained out of one of the three publicly available and established libraries: Google Fonts, Bunny Fonts and Fontshare. We do not upload fonts. Font submissions are not taken by any random contributors. We do not steal font files of other paid services and re-distribute them.

Google Fonts makes all this available under the SIL Open Font License or Apache 2.0. Bunny Fonts is a replica of the Google Fonts collection that has a privacy-first hosting service and zero-logging infrastructure, hosted in the EU. The Indian Type Foundry offers fontshare fonts, which are under either the SIL Open Font License or the Free Font License of ITF – both of which are free to use personally or commercially.

In case of a font on Leslez, it is because the original source library has been published under a license that expressly permits free distribution and use. We are no disrespectful of the work of type-designers, we do not economize on the origin of these files.

Cookies

Google Analytics has the only cookies that are placed on this site. We don’t set our own cookies. We are not advertising on cookies, we are not personalizing, and we are not tracking users besides the anonymous data on the sessions that Google Analytics works with. Since you can block cookies in your browser, or use an ad blocker that unblocks analytics scripts, the site will still work just as much.

Data We Don’t Collect

In order to be specific, here is what we never gather, hoard, or get access to:

Your geographic position not just country-level information that Google Analytics derives based on your IP addresses. You have to pay us with your money, we do not sell anything. Your download history – we do not record what fonts you download. History of browsing off this site.

And data we get in record if you contact us:

Your name. Your e-mail (except in case you contact us directly).

Data We Don’t Sell

We don’t sell data. There is no data to sell. We do not possess a database of records of users. We do not collaborate with the data brokers. We do not have advertisements that involve targeting the audience. No business model in this regard relies on gathering or selling personal information.

Children’s Privacy

Leslez does not obtain any personal data of children below the age of 13 knowingly. As we do not gather any personal information about anyone when using this site normally this is not a viable issue but we mention it here to be completely legal.

Your Rights GDPR/CCPA.

When you are in the EU, UK, or California, you are entitled to access, deletion, or restrictions of your personal data according to GDPR and CCPA. Since we do not gather or store personal information that can be associated with recognizable persons, we do not actually have anything to offer or destroy. In case you have sent an email to us via the contact page and would like this same mail to be deleted off our mail box, send us a swift follow-up mail to request that the same be deleted and we will do the same.
