These terms govern your use of Leslez (leslez.org). By using this site you agree to them. They’re written in plain language because legal boilerplate helps nobody.
What This Site Is?
Leslez is free aggregation of fonts. We search and retrieve fonts and surface fonts in three open-source and free-licensed font libraries, publicly available, namely Google fonts, bunny fonts, and fontshare. We have an integrated search, previewing and downloading ZIP services to enable you to locate and download font files in one interface, as opposed to going to each individual source.
We charge nothing for this. No subscription, no premium tier, no secret charge, no upsell to unlock full access. It is a free service that is supposed to remain so.
Ownership and licensing of fonts.
We simply do not possess any of the fonts in this site. All the fonts found on Leslez are the property of the original creator, foundry or the rights owner. We do not purport to own, have any copyright, or proprietary interest in any typeface served out of this platform.
The fonts are obtained in three sources and its source licensing is:
Google Fonts — fonts are published under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 or under the Apache License 2.0. The two licenses allow personal and commercial use, embedding into web application, redistribution, and modification of the license with its terms and conditions.
Bunny Fonts — Reflects the Google Fonts collection on the same open-source license. Bunny Fonts is a service run by BunnyWay d.o.o. and its infrastructure located in the EU with zero-logging policy.
Fontshare — Fonts are offered by the Indian Type Foundry. There are those that are published under the SIL Open Font License, there are those that are published under the proprietary Free Font License (FFL) by ITF. They both allow free personal and commercial use. The FFL offered by Fontshare does not permit the resale or redistribution of modified versions of fonts designed by ITF.
The license file is downloaded with each ZIP file of Leslez. It is your duty to read and abide by the terms of the license of the font that you will download. In case you are working on a project that requires licensing of fonts, such as a client job, a product to be sold, an application, etc., before the shipping, verify the license file included in the ZIP.
What You Can Do
Any font that is found in this site can be browsed, searched, previewed as well as downloaded. The fonts you download may be used in your own projects, in commercial writing, in client files, in Web pages, applications, print documents and merchandise, in video and any other projects the underlying font license allows. On Leslez, you are able to share a link to any page. You may cite or suggest this site to other people.
What You Cannot Do
Repackage and resell this catalog. You may download fonts to use yourself, but you may not scrape the entire site and create a rival font directory or in any manner incorporate our download links within a commercial product.
Fraudulence in attribution. These fonts are Google fonts, Bunny fonts, and fontshare. Don’t claim you designed them. Do not unzip the license files that were attached to downloaded ZIPs and pass the fonts as your own original work.
It is not a place to do anything unlawful. This is not limited to, but includes, using the infrastructure of the site to package malware, phishing, injecting malicious code into font files (which we do not allow uploading of at all, but saying it), or any other use of it that is against the applicable law in your jurisdiction.
Don’t abuse the service. No robotizing of mass-scraping that causes the site to slow down its functionality in favor of other people, denial-of-service, or any attempt to take advantage of the vulnerabilities of the infrastructure of the site may occur. Normal automated access such as a script to download a few fonts to a build pipeline is not an issue. Beating the server with thousands of simultaneous requests is not.
Do not masquerade or deceive using Leslez. Copying the design, branding, or content of this site is not acceptable as it will result in false or deceptive replicas. Do not suggest our name or logo that you are endorsing or are associating with us when you are not.
Our Role and Limitations
Leslez is an aggregator. We release fonts which are already publicly released by their original sources under existing open-source or free-use licenses. Our index is current and accurate, but not all font listing is current always, though we do make good efforts to do so. The source libraries update at their own time and there can be short delays between an upstream change and the creation of a reflection of it in our index.
We don’t modify font files. The downloads of the files via Leslez are the same downloads via Google fonts, Bunny fonts and Fontshare. We do not inject tracking code, manipulate metadata or modify the font binaries in any manner.
We do not deal in font licensing law. As much as we have explained the specific types of major licenses above, the specific wording of the license is determined not by us but by the SIL, Apache Foundation and Indian Type Foundry. To understand what a font license includes, refer to the text of the license or a legal expert in case of a particular legal question.
