A Note On The Page
Yomogi · Regular
A short letter, set in the family.
Thursday afternoon
Dear Alex,
I left the book by the window. There is a note on page twenty-three that I thought you would like. Bring it along on Thursday; we can finish the conversation over coffee.
See you there.

Yomogi is monospaced, which surprises people who expect a handwriting font to wander. Satsuyako built it on a fixed grid so it can run in vertical Japanese writing as well as horizontal lines, and every character lines up with the one above it.
The strokes are very thin, a fine pen line, and the designer wanted it cute and readable at once. It holds hiragana, katakana and the JIS level 1 and 2 kanji, plus Google’s Latin Plus set, so English, Cyrillic and Vietnamese come along too. That makes 8,036 characters in 1 weight, added to Google Fonts in April 2021.
Thin lines get lost on busy photos. Put it on a plain background: a café board, a handwritten-style note in an app, the label of a jar.
