Type a word in Bungee Spice and it comes out in gradients, no styling needed. The color lives inside the font: it is a COLRv1 font, with CPAL palettes and SVG tables, and it carries more than 1 palette, so you can switch the scheme even in a plain typesetting setup. Its sibling Bungee Tint does the same with flat colors.
David Jonathan Ross made Bungee an experimental color font early on and has kept updating it as the technology matured. Spice comes out of that work and was added to Google Fonts in 2022, and version 2, which Marte Verhaegen and Just van Rossum built over 2023 and 2024, improved the color fonts along with the vertical features.
The letters underneath are the Bungee ones, built for stacked signs, with straight-sided rounds and 11 stylistic sets. 1,082 characters, Vietnamese included.
A practical warning. Browsers and apps that don’t support COLRv1 will not show the gradients, so check where your text will appear and keep a fallback ready. On a poster exported as an image that worry goes away.
