Wedding at the temple hall

Dhurjati was a poet at the court of King Krishnadevaraya, 1 of the Astadiggajalu, a name that translates literally as the 8 legends, and this Telugu font carries his name.

The design is square, with rounded corners, and the vowel marks get ornamental treatment that gives a page a traditional Indian feel. Purushoth Kumar Guttula drew both the Telugu and the Latin in 2013 for Silicon Andhra. The project is led by Appaji Ambarisha Darbha, a type designer in Hyderabad.

Large sizes suit it best, on a wedding card or a festival poster. At text size those decorated marks would start to crowd.

There is 1 Regular style and a short glyph list, 224 in all.
