A Note On The Page

Give You Glory · Regular

A short letter, set in the family.

Thursday afternoon

Dear Alex,

I left the book by the window. There is a note on page twenty-three that I thought you would like. Bring it along on Thursday; we can finish the conversation over coffee.

See you there.

Great job on your science project

Lots of people mix capital and small letter shapes when they write by hand, without ever deciding to, and Kimberly Geswein kept that habit in Give You Glory. It is a mixed-case hand, deliberately imperfect, and what she liked about it was that it has the flow of real writing.

Geswein has made more than 350 fonts since she started in 2006, sold as KG Fonts, and over 20 are on Google, Indie Flower, Shadows Into Light and Gloria Hallelujah among them. She comes from a family of educators and taught photography and theater herself.

This one dates from 2010. 1 Regular style, with the Western European accents. On a classroom poster or a birthday card it reads as a person’s handwriting; in a paragraph the bumps add up, so keep it short.
