A Note On The Page
Rancho · Regular
A short letter, set in the family.
Thursday afternoon
Dear Alex,
I left the book by the window. There is a note on page twenty-three that I thought you would like. Bring it along on Thursday; we can finish the conversation over coffee.
See you there.

Its makers say Rancho is as comfortable in a barn as at the country club, and that is a fair summary of the tone: a loose brush script, not fancy, not scruffy either. The capitals stand tall over a small lowercase and the letters are narrow, so a long name fits on a hand-painted-looking sign.
It comes from Sideshow, a boutique offshoot of Stuart Sandler’s retro foundry Font Diner, based in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Creepster, Chewy, Rock Salt and Satisfy are among Sideshow’s other Google families. 1 Regular, basic Latin, on Google since October 2011.
