FRESH JUICE SOLD HERE
Painted signs over street shops gave Eduardo Tunni the soft, fluid shapes of Lemon. It is a dark face, and he pitched it at headlines and short texts.
He spent the most care on the capitals. Lemon reads best in all caps and in acronyms, where its rhythm holds across the whole word; the lowercase follows the same logic, and so do the figures. And the lowercase is tall, its x-height near 83% of the cap height, so mixed-case words keep a heavy, even band without much poking above it.
The 2023 update brought a bigger character set, fractions and some small changes to the drawing. There are stylistic alternates and ligatures too.
Use it for a juice bar menu board or a jar label. Below 18 px we would leave it alone.
