Marcelo Magalhães drew Coiny’s Latin and Tamil in parallel from the start, working from São Paulo. The shapes are built from simple geometry, and the inspiration is the vernacular lettering you see around any big city, with forms close to what a round-pointed brush leaves behind.
It is heavy by nature, 1 weight only, and sets wide. Titles and headlines are its whole job, a Tamil film poster or a street food sign. 684 characters, Vietnamese included.
