Manipuri went over to Bengali script once its own alphabet, Meetei Mayek, fell out of use in the 18th century. The revival began in the 1930s, and today the script serves about 1.4 million users of Meitei across India, Bangladesh and Myanmar.
Neelakash Kshetrimayum worked with Monotype on this Noto version. It covers the Meetei Mayek block and its extensions, 87 characters, next to a full Latin set, and Google lists Sanskrit written in Meetei Mayek among its languages as well.
9 weights, Thin to Black, which is a generous range. We would give a notice board or a textbook heading the Bold and leave running text at Regular.
