A Note On The Page
Playwrite CO Guides · Regular
A short letter, set in the family.
Thursday afternoon
Dear Alex,
I left the book by the window. There is a note on page twenty-three that I thought you would like. Bring it along on Thursday; we can finish the conversation over coffee.
See you there.

Los colores del arcoíris en Cali
Austin Palmer’s handwriting method, worked out in the United States at the turn of the 20th century, still shows in Colombian classrooms. The local cursive, letra pegada, comes down from it, which is why it resembles the school cursives of the United States, Mexico and Canada, and it reaches children mostly through cartillas, the handwriting booklets that private publishers produce.
Playwrite CO Guides is that cursive with the guidelines drawn on, baseline, x-height, ascenders and descenders around each letter. A teacher building a cartilla-style worksheet can type underscores to get empty ruled space, each as wide as a word.
In the family
It pairs with the main Playwrite CO font from Veronika Burian and José Scaglione at TypeTogether, part of the Playwrite series built on Primarium’s research into school handwriting. 1 Regular, 486 characters.
