A Note On The Page
Playwrite ES Deco Guides · Regular
A short letter, set in the family.
Thursday afternoon
Dear Alex,
I left the book by the window. There is a note on page twenty-three that I thought you would like. Bring it along on Thursday; we can finish the conversation over coffee.
See you there.

Trace the letters on the line
Type an underscore in Playwrite ES Deco Guides and you get no underline, only an empty stretch of guidelines the width of a word space. String a few together and a teacher has blank practice rows for a worksheet.
Every letter carries the guides as well, baseline, x-height, ascender and descender lines printed behind it, so a child can see the proportions while tracing. It is the single-weight companion to Playwrite España Decorativa.
Spanish schools teach a cursive with no slant. Some use a hybrid, joined lowercase with simple print capitals, which is what the big textbook publishers print; others teach a full cursive with ornate, traditional capitals. Deco, short for Decorativa, is the decorative side.
Veronika Burian and José Scaglione of TypeTogether made it, 1 Regular style. Outside a classroom the lines get in the way, and the main family serves better.
