Madonna came out of the Stephenson Blake foundry in 1925, a script that was itself based on an earlier face, Bernhard Cursive. Vernon Adams reshaped it as Niconne so the 1925 design could be used freely as a web font.
The lowercase is tiny next to its capitals, well under half their height, and the letters set narrow. That makes a single capped word, a name or a title, the best place for it. Keep it large, since those small letters close up fast at text sizes.
Adams studied type design at the University of Reading, finishing his MA in 2006, and worked professionally from 2007 until his death in California in 2014. Nearly all his typefaces live on as open source fonts.
