A Note On The Page
Bad Script · Regular
A short letter, set in the family.
Thursday afternoon
Dear Alex,
I left the book by the window. There is a note on page twenty-three that I thought you would like. Bring it along on Thursday; we can finish the conversation over coffee.
See you there.

Back by 6, soup on the stove
It began as a logotype of 6 letters. From there Roman Shchyukin of Gaslight built Bad Script out into a full font for Latin and Cyrillic, every stroke of it drawn on a tablet.
The model was the designer’s own handwriting, casual but tidy, and the work was in making it systematic, so the same letter comes out the same way each time and the joins run smoothly. Cyreal later widened the character set, and a 2024 update brought better kerning and wider language support.
Inside there are 2 stylistic sets, and old style figures alongside the lining ones. Put it on a note card in Russian or English. For a long letter the sameness of a font hand starts to show.
