The heavy part of each stroke is where a pen would normally go thin. Ben Buysse drew Story Script at an angle that reverses the emphasis, so the weight lands in unexpected places and the letters get an odd, off-kilter balance, though each one stays easy to read.
It was made for FullStory, the digital experience company, together with its senior creative director Lana Roulhac, to carry some of the brand’s light mood with cleaner, more deliberate lines than a casual handwriting font. The intended partner is a plain sans: Story Script for the friendly line, the sans for everything else.
1 Regular style, with 2 sets of stylistic alternates for when a repeated letter starts to look stamped.
