Once, in a kingdom of almonds

Before there was a display cut, Almendra was a book face. Ana Sanfelippo took it from calligraphy, from the chancery and gothic hands, and the main family was meant for long texts, children’s books above all. The Bienal Iberoamericana de Diseño exhibited it in 2010.

The Display member is for the other end of the scale. Sanfelippo noted that the many small details in the letters only come through when they are set very large, and this is the cut for that: a book title, a poster, the first letter of a chapter. There is 1 style with a small character set and no OpenType extras, so for the story itself switch to Almendra, and for small capitals to Almendra SC.
