3 people drew the Odia in Baloo Bhaina 2: Yesha Goshar and Manish Minz, with Shuchita Grover, who also had a hand in the Gurmukhi and Kannada members.
Odia brought its own roundness to the project. Most consonants wear a big arch over the top, and here those arches are drawn wide and even, so the Odia stands taller than the Latin capitals next to it and a mixed line looks a little top heavy on the Odia side, in our eyes, which is no bad thing on a banner.
What it has for anyone setting Odia in earnest:
- ୱ, the wa, and the isshar sign ୰
- over 250 extra glyphs for conjuncts, from a plain pair such as କ୍କ up to 3 letter clusters like କ୍ଷ୍ମ
- a stylistic set with second versions of the figures and punctuation, the brackets sitting lower
Use Extra Bold for a Rath Yatra handbill or a sweet box lid. With Regular we would stop at a few lines and open the spacing, as those tall arches plus the vowel signs that drop under the baseline need room between rows.
