Kannada and English on the same page is the situation Benne was drawn for. John Harrington matched its style and weights to EB Garamond, which Georg Duffner originally designed, so a page can use both without the color of the text lurching from 1 script to the other.
That makes it a book font first. There is 1 Regular, with 505 characters and a Latin set of its own that includes small caps, fractions and discretionary ligatures, and it has been on Google Fonts since 2020.
Typesetting a Kannada novel or a bilingual poetry collection? Set the Kannada in Benne and the English in EB Garamond, and the 2 should sit well side by side.
