Thursday afternoon
Dear Alex,
I left the book by the window. There is a note on page twenty-three that I thought you would like. Bring it along on Thursday; we can finish the conversation over coffee.
See you there.

Edward Johnston worked out the Foundational Hand in the early 20th century as a basic style for teaching lettering, and Fondamento is Astigmatic’s digital take on it, a Regular and an Italic released in 2011. The forms are plain and formal and read without effort.
One oddity. The italic sets no narrower than the roman, a hair wider if anything, so switching to it will not win you any room in a tight line.
Ligatures, fractions, 369 Latin glyphs with the extended accents. A certificate or a chapter opening, at 20 px and up.
