Ink settles on rice paper
The G in Fusion Kai G stands for the glyph standard it follows: where Chinese and Japanese standards write a character differently, this version takes the mainland Chinese form.
LXGW built Fusion Kai by merging fonts with the Warcraft Font Merger tool. The base is Klee One from Fontworks, and the G version was put together from LXGW WenKai GB and Iansui, topped up with LXGW WenKai Lite. 2 sister versions exist, T for Taiwan’s school standard and J for Japanese. The name is borrowed from Fusion Pixel Font, another stitched-together project.
The file holds 22,131 characters. Kana, CJK ideographs, bopomofo and Lisu share it with Latin, Greek, Cyrillic and Vietnamese, plus a set of circled and squared Latin signs.
G was dropped upstream after version 3.313 of October 2023, once LXGW WenKai GB Lite came to cover the same characters. The file here is that last G build.
