Fusion Pixel 10px Monospaced TC

Fusion Pixel and BoutiqueBitmap9x9 lean on each other. At 10 pixels Fusion takes Traditional Chinese characters that its base, Ark Pixel Font, has not drawn yet from BoutiqueBitmap9x9, a 9 by 9 bitmap font for Traditional Chinese adapted from M+ BITMAP FONTS and BestTen-DOT. And BoutiqueBitmap9x9, in its own README, lists Fusion Pixel among the fonts it fills gaps from. 2 small open projects patching each other’s holes.

What does TC mean here? Upstream calls this build zh-Hant, and its Han characters follow traditional print forms, the shapes of older Chinese printing type. Separate builds exist for Hong Kong and Taiwan, each tied to its government’s chart, but this one is the general Traditional file.

The grid is the monospaced one, every glyph a half or a full cell, so a Traditional Chinese menu keeps its columns whatever is written in them. Beside the Han set sit kana, Hangul, Bopomofo, boxed Latin letters and the letter pairs some systems turn into flags, 25,313 characters in 1 Regular.

BoutiqueBitmap9x9 describes its own look as made for pixel art and games, and we would say the same of this file. Use it in a game or a pixel interface, not for a printed page.
