LXGW liked the name enough to borrow it. Fusion Kai, a kai-style font merged from several sources, is named after this project, and its J version, like this file, puts Japanese character forms first.
Here the stitching works on a pixel grid. At 10 px the skeleton is TakWolf’s Ark Pixel Font, shapes and metrics both, BoutiqueBitmap9x9 patches Traditional Chinese and Galmuri the Korean, and the ja build follows the kanji tables of Japan’s Agency for Cultural Affairs.
Greek and Cyrillic make it in at this size. 25,582 characters.
Dialogue boxes and item menus are where we see it working. Proportional spacing with kerning keeps a long Japanese line from looking gappy when English names turn up in it.
