Mike Abbink, Paul van der Laan, Pieter van Rosmalen, Ben Mitchell and Mark Frömberg share the credit here, with Bold Monday as the maker and IBM holding the copyright from 2019. Plex is IBM’s corporate typeface all over the world, and the Sans, run by IBM’s Brand & Experience team, now covers Arabic, Cyrillic, Devanagari, Greek, Hebrew, Japanese, Korean and Thai on top of extended Latin.

This is the Looped Thai of Plex, drawn to sit beside the Plex Latin so a Thai sentence and the English product name inside it share weight and color. Plex was meant to be plain and approachable, with small engineered touches that point back to IBM, and the looped Thai is drawn in that same voice.

Is it worth using outside IBM? For a Thai interface we think yes. There are 7 weights from Thin to Bold, a slashed zero for codes and serial numbers, fractions, superscripts and subscripts, and 5 stylistic sets.
