Bars on top, letters underneath. That is the difference between this font and plain Libre Barcode 39: every code it draws comes with its human-readable text below, so a person can check a label without a scanner.
The format is Code 39, which handles capital letters, digits and a handful of symbols. Lasse Fister, a font and web developer in Nuremberg, runs the Libre Barcode project, which also covers Code 128 and EAN-13/UPC-12 in other fonts. For an asset tag or a shelf label we would pick this version every time, since somebody always ends up reading the code by eye.
