The lowercase in Margarine is very tall. Its small letters reach 84% of the height of the capitals, so a word set in lowercase looks almost as big as one in caps, chunky and friendly, and that suits a menu board or a cereal box.
Brian Bonislawsky at Astigmatic gave it a thick marker weight and took the rounds of the letters into lowercase shapes that are otherwise squared off and straightened. He said the inspirations were loose and many. 1 style, Latin, kerning and fractions, on Google Fonts since 2012.
