Mission control, stand by

In 1952 Aldo Novarese and Alessandro Butti designed Microgramma and started the rounded-square sans, and 10 years later Novarese’s Eurostile became the best-known face of the genre. The look ended up tied to the 1960s idea of the future. Michroma is Vernon Adams reworking and remodeling that genre for screens.

His method is the interesting part. Adams shaped the character widths and stem weights to suit digital screens, with a design process of his own that gave good results on screen and needed no manual hinting. A May 2023 update enlarged the glyph set and touched up some details.

It is wide, and a headline in it stretches well past what a regular sans would need, so short words suit it best: a product name, a dashboard title. 1 Regular, 485 characters, Latin, with 2 stylistic sets.
