A Note On The Page

Nanum Brush Script · Regular

A short letter, set in the family.

Thursday afternoon

Dear Alex,

I left the book by the window. There is a note on page twenty-three that I thought you would like. Bring it along on Thursday; we can finish the conversation over coffee.

See you there.

Thank you for this year

The Nanum fonts were drawn specifically for Korean, by Sandoll Communications and Fontrix, with Naver as the publisher, and Brush Script is the member of the family that looks written with a loaded brush. This one is Sandoll’s work.

It was also hinted with care for screen use, which you do not always get with a brush script.

It is a large font, 11,789 characters, almost all of them Hangul. The Latin letters that come with it sit small and narrow next to the Korean, and we would not lean on them for an English headline. For a Korean greeting card or a quote laid over a photo, though, the brush strokes suit the job.
