Notes From The Reading Room
The reading room opens onto a quiet courtyard. Along the shelves, small handwritten labels mark the collections. A visitor leaves a book open beside the window, keeping a place for the next reader.
A heading marks the next chapter. The margins leave room for a note while the text continues across the page.

Yezidi is a small abjad from the Middle East, used in Kurdistan, Iraq, Syria, Turkey and the Caucasus for religious texts in Kurdish and Arabic. Noto Serif Yezidi gives it a modulated design, its strokes swelling and thinning the way a serif text face’s do. The Yezidi side is compact, 55 characters from the Yezidi and Arabic blocks, and around it sits a full Latin with the extended accents, which is where most of the file’s 387 characters go.
Dalton Maag Ltd drew it for Google’s Noto collection. 4 weights, Regular, Medium, Semi Bold and Bold, which is enough to set a heading in a booklet apart from the text below it.
