Rand Holub, a calligrapher and logo designer, lettered in a cartoon style that turned up on brochures and advertisements from the late 1940s through the 1960s. Oregano is Astigmatic’s font of that hand, casual and a little cheeky, with tall capitals over a small lowercase.
Odd thing about the italic: it runs wider than the roman, by over 10% across a line, the reverse of what you usually get. So it reads looser and lazier, and a headline set in it wants more room.
Regular and Italic, Latin with the extended accents. Put it on a menu board or a retro event flyer.
