The Fox and Hounds, est. 1882
Riccardo De Franceschi found the model for Goblin painted on a sign above a pub in Reading, in England. Type people file letters like these under “Latin”, a display category named for its sharp triangular serifs, and Goblin is one of them.
It is wide. Set a sentence in it and it needs about 68% more room than Arial would, so a headline of 3 words can fill a column. The contrast is moderate and the x-height large, and Sorkin Type made it specifically as web type.
1 style, Latin only, no OpenType extras. Keep it big. At small sizes those wedges crowd the counters, and the charm of a painted sign goes with them.
