Pangolin was made for a Google Doodle, the Valentine’s Day one of 2017 called Pangolin Love, and it went up on Google Fonts on 12 February, 2 days before the holiday. The name is the animal’s, an endangered species native to Asia and Africa.
Kevin Burke drew it as a handwritten sans, printed and unjoined. The lowercase is large for a hand font, which is why it copes with a short paragraph or a crowded speech bubble.
1 Regular, 856 characters, with extended Cyrillic and Vietnamese. We would try it on the dialogue in a web comic, or the copy in a children’s app.
