Thursday afternoon
Dear Alex,
I left the book by the window. There is a note on page twenty-three that I thought you would like. Bring it along on Thursday; we can finish the conversation over coffee.
See you there.

Make a Queensland handwriting sheet in a word processor and the ruling comes with the letters. Every glyph in Playwrite AU QLD Guides carries 4 lines behind it:
- the baseline
- the x-height
- a line for ascenders
- a line for descenders
Teachers can type underscores to get the same lines with no letters on them, each the width of a space.
Australia’s states all use a modern cursive, which locals call script and which children learn progressively, but each state has its own version, and Queensland’s department of education sets its own guidelines. The 5 main models share 1 ancestor, Tom Gourdie’s Simple Modern Hand, and have drifted apart since 1990. TypeTogether’s Veronika Burian and José Scaglione drew this one, in 1 Regular weight, as part of their Playwrite school fonts.
