Playwrite DE Grund Guides

Most German children learn a joined cursive at school, but a minority start from print. Since education is a matter for each German state, the handwriting rules differ too, and most states let schools choose between 3 cursive models, Ausgangsschrift, Vereinfachte Ausgangsschrift and Schulausgangsschrift. In 2010 the Grundschulverband, the association of primary schools, proposed a 4th route called Grundschrift: print-style letters with a few cursive elements added, the small exit strokes above all. Bremen and Hamburg are among the states that allow it, and Das Deutsche Schulportal puts it at 10% of German schools.

This is the Guides version of Playwrite DE Grund, so every letter arrives standing on its own set of ruled lines for baseline, x-height, ascender and descender. A row of underscores prints the lines with no letters at all, each underscore as wide as a word space, handy for leaving blank rows under a model word.
