A Note On The Page
Lugrasimo · Regular
A short letter, set in the family.
Thursday afternoon
Dear Alex,
I left the book by the window. There is a note on page twenty-three that I thought you would like. Bring it along on Thursday; we can finish the conversation over coffee.
See you there.

Open an old Word file that asks for Lucida Calligraphy on a machine without it, and the text reflows: lines break in new places, a page runs over onto the next. Lugrasimo is the DocRepair Project’s answer, a font spaced to stand in for Lucida Calligraphy so that Office Open XML documents, the ISO/IEC 29500 standard, shift as little as possible.
The letters come from Astigmatic’s Fondamento, a calligraphic face based on the Foundational Hand that Edward Johnston worked out in the early 20th century as a basic teaching style. Clear and formal, without much flourish.
1 Regular, Latin with the extended accents. Even if you are not rescuing documents, it makes a tidy heading on a certificate or an invitation.
