2 scripts from the 1950s sit behind Dancing Script. Pablo Impallari took the weight distribution from Murray Hill, which Emil Klumpp drew in 1956, and the bounce from Roger Excoffon’s Mistral of 1953, and the letters do bounce, hopping and changing size a little as a word goes along.
The capitals are the loud part. They are big and drop below the baseline, and the lowercase under them reaches less than half their height. At 16 px that lowercase gets tiny, so set a name on a wedding card or a café chalkboard at 32 px or more.
It came to Google Fonts in May 2011, on the same day its bold did, and picked up a variable weight axis in November 2019. The download here is 4 static weights, Regular to Bold. Stylistic alternates and discretionary ligatures are there if you want to vary a repeated letter, and the 559 characters cover Vietnamese.
