Pablo Impallari did early OpenType handwriting development on Sriracha in 2014, a year before Cadson Demak released the font.
Suppakit Chalermlarp drew it at Cadson Demak, the Thai foundry, as an informal, loopless Thai with a sans serif Latin to match. He grew up in Chonburi province east of Bangkok, heads the foundry’s technical team, and also designed Sarabun, the family the Thai government chose for its official documents.
Cadson Demak itself was set up in 2002, the first communication design firm in Thailand to take on type design, and turned into a boutique type foundry in 2008.
1 Regular style, with Thai, Latin and Vietnamese. For a cafe board, a social post or a note to a child it has the friendly, easy hand the makers were after.
