A Note On The Page
Playwrite BE WAL Guides · Regular
A short letter, set in the family.
Thursday afternoon
Dear Alex,
I left the book by the window. There is a note on page twenty-three that I thought you would like. Bring it along on Thursday; we can finish the conversation over coffee.
See you there.

Bonjour madame, voici ma dictée
An upright cursive, the kind taught across the border in France, is what the French-speaking schools of Wallonia and Brussels prefer, while the Flemish schools go for a sloped Dutch-style hand. Both start children on print letters in kindergarten and move to joined writing later in primary school.
Playwrite BE WAL Guides is the lined companion of Playwrite Belgique Wallonie-Bruxelles. Baseline, x-height, ascender and descender lines run through all characters apart from the spacing ones, and the underscore gives you an empty stretch of lines as wide as a word space. Would a teacher want more than that for a dictation sheet? Probably not.
Veronika Burian and José Scaglione drew it at TypeTogether, in a single Regular.
