Summer jazz on the terrace

None of the strokes in Port Lligat Sans is quite straight. Tipo gave them entasis, the slight swell a classical column has, and carried it into the stroke endings too, so the letters look soft without being rounded. With the condensed structure and vertical stress, it makes a display sans with a relaxed, groovy rhythm.

It was planned as the base of a super family, with styles in different categories matched in weight and width so they mix freely; the Sans and a Slab were the first released. Tipo suggests it for short text and headlines, and says it reads comfortably on screen. 1 Regular style, Latin, kerning only.
