Notch is the Stack Sans cut named after the family’s mark, the small notches in the letters, which Koto took from the process of building things. Koto, with Dylan Young, made the family for Stack Overflow with both a headline and a text style, so the brand could keep its voice at any size, and Google files Notch as a display face.
6 weights from ExtraLight to Bold. The lowercase stands big against the capitals, tabular figures are there for numbers that need to line up, and Google added the family in October 2025.
Headlines and brand work first. At reading sizes the text style is the better tool.
