A Note On The Page
Rouge Script · Regular
A short letter, set in the family.
Thursday afternoon
Dear Alex,
I left the book by the window. There is a note on page twenty-three that I thought you would like. Bring it along on Thursday; we can finish the conversation over coffee.
See you there.

Sabrina Mariela Lopez started Rouge Script with a copperplate nib, the pen of formal script, then redrew the ends of the strokes the way a brush leaves them. The mix takes the stiffness out of the formal hand and leaves it soft and quick in the curves.
The slant is gentle, which she chose for legibility and for cleaner rendering on screen. The lowercase is short, about half the height of the capitals, and the whole thing sets very narrow, so a brand name or a magazine headline takes up little width. Lopez founded Typesenses in Argentina in 2009, a studio where designs begin as hand sketches before they are digitized.
