Nobody drew Rubik Beastly by hand, letter by letter. NaN, the Berlin studio, wrote a set of scripts called Glyph Filters that run inside the Glyphs editor and push an existing font’s outlines around, many of them using Simplex noise, a method for making random variation that still looks natural. Fed Hubert and Fischer’s Rubik, they produced this beast, 1 of more than 20 filtered Rubiks on Google.
Luke Prowse, a founder of NaN, is credited alongside the studio, Simon Cozens reviewed the code, and Underscore Type built the project site. Because Rubik sits underneath, Hebrew and Cyrillic come along. 1 Regular style; give it plenty of size.
