Old posters printed from wood type are the root of Rye, and the American West hangs over every letter. Nicole Fally drew it at Sorkin Type to catch attention in advertising. Contrast between thick and thin is medium, the letters spread wide, and there is 1 style.
It was made as web type from the outset, for medium and large sizes. In practice that means headlines or a saloon-style menu. Set a paragraph in it and you’ll regret it by the second line.
