- Saira comes in 4 widths: Normal, Semi Condensed, Condensed and Extra Condensed.
This page is the Condensed, 3rd of the 4 as they narrow, and a line of it takes about 20% less room than the same line in Arial. Hector Gatti designed the system and the Omnibus-Type team developed it, with 9 weights in every width, Thin through Black.
Narrow faces earn their keep where space runs out sideways, a scoreboard graphic or a column heading in a dense table, and the heavy weights here make a tight, punchy number. A slashed zero and stylistic alternates are included, and Vietnamese is supported.
We would pair it with the Normal width for longer text, since both belong to the same system.
