Notes From The Reading Room
The reading room opens onto a quiet courtyard. Along the shelves, small handwritten labels mark the collections. A visitor leaves a book open beside the window, keeping a place for the next reader.
A heading marks the next chapter. The margins leave room for a note while the text continues across the page.

Minutes of the parish meeting
Konstantin Vinogradov drew Amethysta for printing on low quality paper. That is why the serifs and terminals are small wedges, kept to a minimum, and the result is a plain, strong text face. In its proportions it stays close to the transitional serifs.
Vinogradov finished the lowercase as version 1.000 in September 2011. Alexei Vanyashin at Cyreal took it from there, extended it to the full Latin-1 set, refined the lowercase, reworked the spacing and mastered the TrueType file, version 1.002, that November. The TrueType carries hints done by hand.
It is meant for small to medium sizes, where it reads cleanly. Go bigger and the details start to show, which is not a bad thing either. There is only 1 Regular style, so no italic and no bold, and that limits it to text where emphasis is rare: a newsletter, a club bulletin, a short book.
