Satya Rajpurohit, who founded Indian Type Foundry and Fontshare, named Author after the work he drew it for, setting modern publications. Its proportions leave room in the counters, which helps legibility and the way letters render on a screen, and the tops of the strokes are trimmed at an angle, a pen habit carried over into a sans.
Both kinds of figures are in, lining and old style, and in each set the 3 has a flat top.
The family runs to 6 weights, ExtraLight to Bold, each with an italic, and this download holds a single style from it. The body is small for its point size, so set it a step up when it shares a page with other faces. An essay collection’s cover would be our first idea.
