The tops of the lowercase ascenders in Bespoke Slab are cut on a slant, a nod to letters written with a broad-nib pen, and that small angle keeps the slabs from looking machine-stamped. Jérémie Hornus, Théo Guillard, Morgane Pambrun, Alisa Nowak and Joachim Vu drew it for Indian Type Foundry with big, open counters so it holds up in running text.
It is 1 branch of the Bespoke family, next to Bespoke Sans, Bespoke Serif and Bespoke Stencil. In the family’s italics the a and g change to single-story forms, while this download is the upright Regular.
Signage and wayfinding are where we would try it first. A wide slab with open shapes carries well from across a room.
