Oscar M. Bryn did the lettering on posters for the Santa Fe Railroad, and Yvonne Schüttler built Calistoga out of it, a cheerful display face with the railroad era running all through it. It is her original design. Eben Sorkin came in later, in 2018 and again in 2022, to widen the language support and tidy up the drawing.
For a 1 style display face the extras go a long way:
Proportional and tabular figures, in both old style and lining forms, so 4 ways to set a number. Fractions, superiors and inferiors. Case-sensitive punctuation. A broad range of symbols.
That makes it more useful than it looks on a menu or a timetable, where prices and times have to line up in a column. There is only 1 weight, Regular, so the hierarchy has to come from size and color.
