Pulp fiction covers and mid-century ads used a particular style of casual lettering, and Carter One is Vernon Adams reworking those forms for the web in 2011. The counters were opened slightly and the stems adjusted, so the letters keep their shape as display type in a browser.
What you get is 1 Regular with 269 characters, basic Latin and kerning. Accented languages are left out. For a paperback mock-up or a diner menu it’s a good fit, and it sets wide, so give a headline some room.
