The Chinese characters in Chocolate Classical Sans keep their inherited forms. Most of its shapes come from the I.Font Project’s Inherited Glyphs standard, topped up with other inherited forms that see common use, so Traditional Chinese text comes out with the traditional-style glyphs.
Tian Haidong produced it and Moonlit Owen modified it. Underneath sits Source Han Sans, the sans that Adobe and Google developed together, with extra glyphs from the open source work of Steve Yuu, GuiWonder and ChiuMing. Google added it in May 2024.
35,979 characters in a single Regular, with Cyrillic, Greek, kana and Vietnamese among them. The Latin side carries an unusual amount of OpenType for a CJK font, 13 stylistic sets, small caps, old style figures and a slashed zero among it.
That is a big file. On the web, subset it or split it by unicode-range before a phone has to download it.
Only 1 weight, so a Chinese heading has to get its emphasis from size or color.
