Thursday afternoon
Dear Alex,
I left the book by the window. There is a note on page twenty-three that I thought you would like. Bring it along on Thursday; we can finish the conversation over coffee.
See you there.

Can Comic Sans be made respectable? Craig Rozynski, a designer living between Australia and Japan, thought it could, and started Comic Neue to find out. He kept the open, honest manner that made the original so popular and took out the squashed, lopsided glyphs that designers love to complain about. Hrant Papazian is credited alongside him.
What you get is the same casual handwriting idea with the wobble trained out. Letters are more regular and a page of it looks tidy where the old one looked rushed.
The family goes further than its ancestor did, too:
- Light, Regular and Bold, each with an italic, 6 styles in all
- fractions, superscripts and ordinals in the OpenType features
Rozynski’s stated aim was a casual script that even typographers would pick. For a classroom handout, a comic or a sign on the office fridge it works, and nobody will groan at it the way they groan at the original.
